Best Decision in a Nightmare Situation Mar 18, 2026

I hired Rusty Shepard at Shepard Law in Panama City after I was arrested for DUI, and I can confidently say it was the best decision I could have made in this nightmare situation. From the first phone call, Rusty treated me like a person, not just another case. I was stressed and didn’t understand what was going to happen or what was going on, but he walked me through everything. I had a million questions and he answered every single one without brushing me off. He explained what first appearance meant, what the following procedures and court dates entail, what the possible outcomes were, and what we needed to focus on currently and moving forward. He was very direct with how this could pan out but still took time and effort to make sure I felt heard and understood. As the case moved forward, he stayed on top of everything. He reviewed every little detail of the facts of my case with such care and thoughtfulness, explained the evidence to me in legal and plain English, and pointed out issues that I didn’t even know were issues. He kept me informed, answered my questions, and made himself available when I needed him. What really stood out was how prepared he was. When it came time to go to court with the case, it was clear he knew exactly what he was doing in a way that reflected years of experience and clear preparation. He wasn’t just going through the motions, he was actively looking for weaknesses and pushing back where it mattered. In the end, my DUI charge was dismissed. Charge Dropped Completely Jul 18, 2024

I had a DUI charge earlier this year and am so grateful to have found Madeline McClaran! She charges fairly, she is honest and will go through the whole process and what to expect and different strategies. She never missed a court date and was able to get my charge dropped completely. Let me just say this is going to be long. Getting Shepard Law for my attorney was the absolute best choice I could have ever made! They most definitely do their best to please the clients they have, as well as they are very understanding and willing to work with you in every way possible, whether it's payments and/or your case. The communication is outstanding. They make sure to answer any questions their client may have as fast as possible with their best of knowledge so their clients aren't left confused. They are straightforward, so they don't give false hope, as I've experienced with other attorneys. They stay on top of the game and are very fast-paced! They are for you and only you! I had a rough experience a few months ago and chose Shepard Law randomly. I called; they asked for me to come in the same day! I got to meet with William Gunter first! He was very outgoing and super understanding and definitely knows what he's doing when it comes to a case! He was completely honest with me when it came to the DMV, with a suspension on my license. He explained how they are very strict and it's super hard to get them to agree on a reinstatement, and to make sure I had a backup plan. About 28 days later he successfully beat the hearing with the DMV, and I got to reinstate my license! He did as well set up meetings as much as possible to keep me updated on everything and definitely dissected every part of the case! I also got to meet with Elizabeth right before they closed my case. She was so sweet and super easy to talk to. She even gave me her personal contact number and told me to contact her if I had any more questions, as well informing me that she goes to bed early so I probably wouldn't get a response till the next morning if it was after a certain time. With that being said, not even 24 hours later she contacts me with the absolute best news about my case! I couldn't be any more happier with the work she did to get me a better [outcome] than what I was asking! And truthfully every single one I have engaged with in their office were super nice and made you feel completely comfortable and are very helpful and super good with children. I would definitely recommend 100000% them to anyone who really wants/needs an awesome experience with a great outcome, with hard-working, willing, understanding, very commutable, fast-paced attorneys!
